Welcome to Halwill and Ashwater Primary Schools.
We are a busy, successful and friendly Federation of two village schools. We hope that all visitors to this website will find our website informative and that it provides you with a clear and accurate understanding of the life and work of our school and its ethos.
We are very proud of our schools in the heart of the beautiful Devon countryside. Visitors to our schools often comment on the friendly, happy ethos which is very evident as you walk in. We recognise that every child is unique and, as such, we value them as individuals providing a safe and secure environment in which they can develop their skills and talents.
Within our federation we aim to provide our children with a wide range of exciting, relevant and challenging experiences through a rich and creative curriculum across the whole spectrum of learning. We aim for excellence in all that we do and we challenge our children to do and achieve the best they can in all aspects of school life.
While recognising and promoting the importance of high achievement and standards we are very conscious of the importance of nurturing our children, to develop their confidence, ambition and skills for lifelong learning while at the same time enabling them to recognise their role in being part of a successful, forward thinking and humane community
Our schools consider that parental involvement in the process of education is critical to its success and being part of a village community we also strongly encourage our parents, carers and volunteers to share in the many aspects of school life working together with the children celebrating their many successes and achievements.
If you would like to visit our schools to see what very special places they are or you need further information please contact the school office and we would be delighted to show you round or answer any queries you may have.
