The children had a great day celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March. The children began by dressing up as their favourite book character. They then took part in a number of 'book themed' activities including individual and shared reading, writing group stories, author and illustrator research and, not forgetting, the 'Where's Wally Challenge'. The day finished with a book quiz and a book fair, hosted by Sarah Leach from Usborne Books.
A selection of pictures from the day can be seen below. There are many more displayed in the Infant classroom. Many thanks to the parents and children for all the effort they put into their costumes.
A huge thank you to the PTFA for organising our annual community Christmas lunch. Unfortunately (due to the loss of an oven!) we were unable to provide the usual Christmas roast, however, the PTFA provided delicious home-made soup and desserts, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The meal was followed with a raffle and Christmas songs from the children.
Many thanks to everybody who came along today to support this event and our school. We look forward to seeing you at future events.
